Bethany: Daughter of the Lord (Hebrew)

Sloane: Warrior (Celtic).

Bethany Sloane was once just your average, everyday woman. She was working at a Planned Parenthood clinic, trying to keep young girls from making the same mistake she did in college (an abortion done by a second-year med school student had given her an infection which left her unable to have children, which caused her husband to leave her for a woman who could have his children). Events in her life had caused her to lose her faith in God. Her life was pretty boring until one fateful night when she was tapped by the Metatron and charged with a holy crusade to stop two fallen angels, Bartleby and Loki, from entering a church and exploiting the Catholic church's belief of pleneary indulgence. Along the way, she met and was helped by the Prophets Jay and Silent Bob, the thirteenth Apostle Rufus, and the Muse Serendipity. During the journey, Bethany discovered that she was the great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great grand-niece of Jesus Christ - in other words, the last living descendant of Jesus. After the Demon Azrael, who was behind the whole plot to end existance, was defeated, Bethany figured out that God was imprisoned in a body and released her, getting killed in the process. God revived her and restored her ability to make life, and she is now pregnant with the new Last Scion, a baby girl to be named Rachel.

After her adventures in New Jersey, she went back home and found her way to the Nexus, where she eventually met up with Bartleby and Loki again. Bartleby and Loki were forgiven and now look after Bethany and her child as guardian angels. She lived in Illinois until Azrael came into the Nexus one day and threatened her and her child. Terrified, she ran away to live with Rosie in Gotham and has been living there for the past few months. Since Rosie is planning on moving soon, Bethany has decided to move back home, because she feels like she will be a better mother if she learns to be independant again. She hangs out in the Nexus frequently, often asking for advice about motherhood, since she never thought she could be a mother.
